Published on the occasion of ‘Recent works of Gao Xingjian’, organised by iPRECIATION.
Published and edited by iPRECIATION.
Description
Published in conjunction with iPRECIATION’s solo exhibition of Gao Xingjian, Recent Works of Gao Xingjian, this publication contains almost 100 of Gao’s best famed ink paintings, both recent and previous works. From his humble beginning as a French translator to being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2000 by His Majesty, the King of Sweden, Gao is no doubt one of the most exciting ink artists and literary persona of our time. Gao’s distinctive ink wash paintings reflect his search for personal identity, inner visions and state of mind. An exemplary artist, Gao refuses to ascribe to any conceptual doctrine in his practices, firmly believing that aesthetics should always belong to the realm of the individual.
This publication also includes an essay and dialogue with the artist by renowned Chinese art critic and fine art historian, Chen Lu Sheng.
